First of all let me assure you that the bible DOES speak of a catching away, which by many, is now referred to as "The Rapture".
2 Thessalonians Chapter 2 contains very important scriptures as to the timing of this event known as "The Rapture" today. The "That Day" referred to in this chapter is The Second Coming of Jesus Christ and The Rapture which was referred to as "The Catching Away" by the Apostle Paul in 1st Thessalonians 4:17 which says we that are alive and remain shall be Caught Up together with them in the clouds.....
This Second Letter to the Thessalonians was written by Paul due to a problem the Thessalonians were having in their church after Paul had previously visited them and told them what must take place before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Apparently they had quickly forgotten what they were told and Paul writes them for a second time to remind them of the TWO EVENTS that will come to pass BEFORE "THAT DAY" comes!
2 Thessalonians 2:5 Remember ye NOT, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things.
Be sure that Paul is talking about The Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the Rapture in this chapter which he makes clear with the first verse as he begins it.
2 Thessalonians 2:1 Now we beseech you brethren, by the Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering unto Him.
As we watched another phony rapture prediction come and go on May 21,2011, the many that were shaken by this phony prediction could have saved themselves alot of headaches had they only payed less attention to "The Left Behind" series and payed more attention to their bible! In verse 2 of this same chapter Paul also states to not be shaken or troubled by what anyone says as to the timing of this event and then gives TWO EVENTS that MUST take place prior to the Second Coming and The Rapture.
It is hard to say how many "Rapture" predictions have been made over the passed two thousand years but one thing for sure is that if anyone truly studied and believed their bible they would have never made such predictions knowing that "The man of sin" has not been manifested even at this present time. This man of sin, also known as "The Anti Christ", must become known first. Although many, including myself, believe that he is alive and present on the earth at this present time in 2011, he has not quite manifested himself yet. The time is at hand and he will become known soon and THEN we can begin to understand that The Second Coming of Jesus Christ is knocking at the door.
Follow this link on how the New Testament Parables refer to the rapture.
A movie recently released in Iran is more evidence that the day of this man of sin being manifested is near! I have included a link with a little information on this film and it's call for the 12th imam to come. This leader they say will lead the Islamic armies into battle in the last days. Click the following link for more information on this film.
You may also click this next link for a better understanding of what the 12th imam is to Islam. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;....... It is important for us as Christians to be aware of what is approaching and to blow the trumpet for others. These things should not scare you but rather make you jump for joy when you understand that the bible has been saying for thousands of years that these things were coming and that the Second Coming of the LORD will come right along with it! If you are on the God of the Bible's side, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob you have nothing to fear and if you don't know Jesus as your personal savior please contact us for prayer by email and feel free to ask for a phone number if you would like to speak with someone personally!
Contrary to what many teach today that the Holy Spirit will be removed from the earth and thus meaning also that Christians will be "Raptured" out of here and then the man of sin "Anti- Christ" will be revealed, I challenge you to carefully read the first and second chapter of 2nd Thessalonians and let me know where you find Paul referring to the Holy Spirit previous to verse 7 at any point that would give any hint to the restraining force of verse 7 being the Holy Spirit. What you will see, is that what Paul is talking about, that is restraining in verse 7 are the two events he mentioned in verse 3 that must take place BEFORE the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will take place and our LORD will be revealed at that time!
Please note 2nd Thessalonians 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels.
The Ten Minute Tribulation covers this chapter and much more into understanding the Rapture.
