What Did Simon See?

Are you ready for this?
I'm sure you are very aware that two Sundays ago (April 8) was the Day of our Lord's resurrection, BUT, are you aware of the 40 days we are in right now when He was teaching His apostle's prior to the Day of Pentecost?

                                                                     Acts 1:3
To whom also He showed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

The above verse speaks of JESUS immediately AFTER His resurrection.  It would be right about now that JESUS was giving His apostle's that well known verse from Matthew Chapter 28 right after He had been
crucified and resurrected.

                                                               Matthew 28:19
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Although, NOBODY, was baptized here at this time and Jesus was only teaching His disciples, we see He continued to teach the apostle's for the next 40 days until the time He made His ascension to heaven at the end of the 40 days, and 10 days before the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost).  Pentecost was a Feast kept by the Jews from the time of Moses in Levitcus Chapter 23.  Pentecost will be on May 27th in 2012.

                                                                Acts 1:9
            And when He had spoken these things, while they beheld, He was taken up;
and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

And praise the LORD for what happened just ten days after the ascension!  Yes, 50 days total, AFTER the resurrection, the baptisms began as the Holy Ghost was poured out on mankind like never before because of that precious blood that was spilled just 50 days prior.  That's right!, as the apostle's eyes were opened to what Jesus had been teaching them on baptism and the Kingdom of Heaven for those 40 days, they began to obey what their Lord had taught them and boldly began to baptize in Jesus Name with full understanding that Jesus is the Name (singular) of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost!

                                                                 Acts 2:38-39
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  For the PROMISE is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Although some years had passed by, by the time we get to the 8th chapter of the Book of Acts, it is very obvious that the apostle's were still hard at it!  Here we see there were some people that had been baptized in that precious Name, But, obviously had NOT yet received the Holy Ghost.

                                                                     Acts 8:14-16
Now when the apostle's which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost.  For as yet He was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus.

What a powerful time in the LORD that must have been when the Holy Ghost came down on the Samaritans.  Simon the sorcerer certainly thought so, as he desperately wanted to buy the power of God which he had just seen come down.

                                                                   Acts 8:17-18
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostle's hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money.

I think we are more in a time here in 2012, where, someone would just leave the church if they saw something like this rather than want to buy it, but none the less, I pray you can see the point I am trying to make here. The Book of Acts is full of instances where people saw and heard when someone got the Holy Ghost!  Let's not be prideful or stubborn, let God work on you and your family if you have not heard or seen them get the Holy Ghost!

                                                                  Acts 19:2
He (Paul) said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?

Have a blessed week and be SURE to tell someone on the job about JESUS!

Is Your House Worthy?

Paz de Cristo!, That's right, Praise the LORD!
In a recent bible study, we were going over Matthew chapter 10 which speaks on Jesus calling the 12 disciples and giving them power and thus making the 12 disciples the 12 apostles.
                                                                 Matthew 10:1
And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

                                                               Matthew 10:2
Now the names of the twelve apostles are these.......

Now apparently, the biggest difference between a disciple and an apostle seems to be a little power!  How often we hear not to judge, but on the contrary the apostles were often told to judge.
                                                                Matthew 10:12
And when ye come into a house, salute it.

                                                                Matthew 10:13
And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it:
but if it be NOT worthy, let your peace return unto you.

If an apostle of JESUS CHRIST were to enter your house, would it be judged worthy?  Would the members of your house receive the words of an apostle or would the apostle have to leave and shake the dust from his feet?
                                                               Matthew 10:14
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words,
when ye depart out of that house, or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

                                                               Matthew 10:15
Verily I say unto you,It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha
in the day of judgement, than for that city.

Living for Jesus is a constant battle, and if you quit fighting, be sure to devil will quickly move in!
Judge your own house and trust what God is telling you!  Clean up the mess and get it out of the house!  Remember this,  the kids are the kids and you are the authority.
                                                           Matthew 10:34-39
Think NOT that I am come to send peace on the earth:
I came NOT to send peace, BUT a sword.
For I am come to set a man at variance against his father,
and the daughter against the mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
                      He that loveth father or mother more than Me is NOT worthy of Me;
and he that loveth son or daughter more than Me is NOT worthy of Me.
And he that taketh NOT his cross, and followeth after Me, is NOT worthy of Me.
He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for My sake shall find it.
                                                          It's time to tighten up!
He's coming back for His People sooner than you think!
Have a blessed day and be SURE to tell someone on the job about JESUS!

Friend Today, Fiend Tomorrow!

God is GoOD!
Sometimes all you can say is, "WOW", after an awesome time in the Presence of the LORD!  We have had a time in the POWER of God's Presence here in Virginia lately!  I know I have to be careful when I say that because some people think I am suggesting it's only happening here, but,  be sure I am very aware that many of you are having the same kind of time in the LORD in your home church!  God is an Awesome God and is NOT limited to where He is at any particular time, BUT, if you are NOT having that kind of time in the LORD, please be sure to understand the bible PROMISES, YOU, the same kind of experience! (Acts 2:38-39)

                                                                              Hebrews 10:19-20

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of JESUS, By a new and living way, which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh.

If you are not familiar with the way the Tabernacle of Moses works, I am giving a link here that will show you an excellent model that will help you to understand.  It is very important to understand how the old testament system operated in the natural to understand how the system now works for each and every one of us, today, in the new testament spiritually.  If you are a children's ministry teacher, this project would be one of the best teachings you can give the children and they will have a great time putting it together and painting it.  You can also get some directions on the coloring of each piece which will help you greatly to put it together according to God's Word.  Click here to get a better understanding of "The Tabernacle of
Moses"

I'm not going to get in to detail on the tabernacle here, but, if you click on the above link and notice the area with the brown roof, there are actually two rooms under that area.  The first room inside this area was for all priests to enter into.  The second room was divided by a very thick veil and ONLY the High Priest  could go beyond this veil and ONLY once a year was he actually able to do that.  The writer of Hebrews tells us clearly that we are all able to enter into this place now through the blood of Jesus.  REMEMBER! , the veil was torn at the time that Jesus gave up the Ghost on the cross of Calvary almost 2000 years ago.

                                                                               Matthew 27:51
And behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom:
and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent.

Before I jump into the subject of discussion "Friend today, Fiend tomorrow", I want to mention an event coming up in Charles County Maryland this Friday, April 6.  There is going to be a road side drama beginning at about 11:30 am and ending at about 3:00 pm and will be a reproduction of the day of the crucifixion!  Please contact me if you are interested in attending and possibly participating!  I understand there is a lot of debate as to the actual day Jesus was crucified, but, that is not the point of focus for this event.

OK, so, what do you get when you take the "R" out of "Friend"?  Yep, "Fiend"   Let me give you some definitions of "Fiend"

fiend
  noun
1. Satan; the devil.
2. any evil spirit; demon.
3. a diabolically cruel or wicked person.
4. a person or thing that causes mischief or annoyance: Those children
are little fiends.
5. Informal . a person who is extremely addicted to some pernicious habit: an opium fiend.

This is what drugs, alcohol and other addictions can do to your family and friends very quickly, if, you are not aware of how powerful a substance or addiction can work demonically in a persons life, once, it has entered into God's temple of the New Testament, which is your body!  Yes the "R" in "Friend", quickly, disappears and your "Friend" becomes your "Fiend!"  BUT,
it does NOT always take drugs and alcohol for your "Friend" to become your "Fiend" as Jesus found out during the week we are now in, but, nearly 2000 years ago.

Yes, it was just a few days ago and nearly 2000 years ago that Jesus rode in on that donkey and was being hailed as Savior and "Friend" by all that were following Him at His First Coming.

                                                             Luke 19:37-38
And when He was come nigh, even now at the descent of the Mount of Olives,
the whole multitude of disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud
                               voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the Name of the LORD:
peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

I can only imagine Jesus' thoughts towards this crowd as He surely knew what was to come just a few days later in total contradiction to what He has just heard from the mouths of so many that said they were His "Friend"

What a difference a week can make!

Let's take a look at what some in that crowd were saying about their "King" and their "Friend" just a few days later!

                                                                Matthew 27:22
Pilate saith unto them, what shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?
They all say unto him, Let Him be crucified.

It gets much deeper than this!

                                                             Matthew 27:27-31
Then the soldiers of the Governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto Him the whole band of soldiers. And they stripped Him, and put on Him a scarlet robe. And when they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it upon His head, and a reed in His right hand: and they bowed the knee before Him, and mocked Him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

And they spit upon Him, and took the reed, and smote Him on the head. And after that they had mocked Him, they took the robe off from Him, and put His own raiment on Him, and led Him away to crucify Him.

Hard to believe Jesus could see all of this coming and just keep on going and keep on loving! BUT, At the same time, THANK GOD HE DID!

As we continue to move forward in the LORD, let's keep the "R" in "Friends" as Christians, even, when the times get tough as we were told by our "Friend" that they would become in the last days!

                                                           Matthew 24:12
And because iniquity (lawlessness) shall abound, the love of many shall wax (grow) cold.

Have a blessed week and remember to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves!
and as always, be SURE to tell someone on the job about JESUS!

Note: This blog was a regular message that is sent out to my contacts by email, if you would like to receive this letter on a bi-weekly and sometimes monthly basis, please contact me by email and request to be added to the contact list.  You will also be informed of events taking place in the USA and other countries and be able to join us as the LORD permits!  If you also have not read "The Ten Minute Tribulation/The Final 7 Years" click here to get it now.
