Why Would A Good God Let Bad Things Happen?

Praise the LORD!
Well first of all be sure that God is GoOD!  This topic came to mind as I recently saw the news on the pile of trash that is twice the size of the state of Texas and is slowly moving towards Hawaii and the west coast of the United States.  This pile of trash includes tires, sofas, clothes, and just about anything else you can think of and probably a good part of the nearly 3-4000  bodies that have not been found in Tohoku, Japan after the earthquake and tsunami on May 11, 2011.

In a recent discussion with a man of the muslim faith, we got into the topic of the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple which took place in 70 AD about 40 years after Jesus was crucified.  I was quite surprised when this man stood firm on the destruction as he stated that it was God's judgement against the Jewish people at that time. I knew he was correct but what really amazed me was the fact that I could tell he felt that those that destroyed it had done the right thing.  Please be aware that it was NOT only Rome that destroyed Jerusalem at that time but also the hired mercenaries which include the descendents of Esau which would be the arabs or muslims today.  He was correct that God will bring such judgement on people by the hands of other nations and people as we see in the Book of Daniel with the destruction of Jerusalem by Babylon in 600 BC.  I must add here though that although God used a pagan nation to bring destruction, God also said that He would later bring destruction upon those He had used for that particular time in history.  As we search history we can easily see that God did eventually also bring judgement upon the babylonians that destroyed Jerusalem in 600 BC. and be sure He will do the same with those that destroyed it in 70 AD.

Now all of this may seem a little hard to chew but it all comes down to this.  God will always judge unrighteousness but the good news is He will also bless anyone at anytime that repents of their unrighteousness!  Righteous Daniel spent about 60 years or so captive, in the middle of an unrighteous nation and it amazes me when I read at how firm he remained faithful to his God in the middle of all of it. Daniel is a very good example of God's protection upon His faithful people during any type of judgement that may fall around them.

Psalm 91:7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand, BUT it shall NOT come nigh thee.

I think it is quite clear to anyone that honestly knows their bible that judgement will fall upon the entire earth one day as it returns to the state that it was in at the days of Noah.  Matthew 24:37-39  But we as Christians must know that God is GoOD and have the faith of Daniel in the middle of it
all.

Revelation 11:18  And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy Name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Get ready saints, stand firm and KNOW that God is GoOD!

God bless you!

Is Baptism Still Important?

10/24/2011

Praise the LORD!
JESUS CHRIST the same yesterday, and today, and forever.  Hebrews 13:8
Baptism by far is not just a New Testament teaching.  Baptism goes back atleast 3500 years that I know of.  When God gave Moses the pattern of the tabernacle, the pattern included water baptism represented by what was known as the Laver.
                                                                                            Exodus 30:18
                                                                        New King James Version (NKJV)
“You shall also make a laver of bronze, with
its base also of bronze, for washing. You shall put it between the tabernacle of
meeting and the altar. And you shall put water in it,

This is where the priests in the old testament were to wash with water before entering into the holy place.  It is clear that the priests were to only wash their hands and feet at the laver but deeper study of the word shows us why Jesus was fully submerged at His baptism when He was 30 years old.  In the Old Testament a priest entered the priesthood at the age of 30.  They were also fully submerged at this time to enter in.

                                                                                          Romans 6:4
                                                                       New King James Version (NKJV)
Therefore we were buried with Him through
baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of
the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

It is common in many churches today and among many christians without a church to teach that you are saved by faith and nothing more is needed.  One scripture commonly used would be from Romans Chapter 3.

                                                                          Romans 3:28
                                                                 New King James Version (NKJV)
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified
by faith apart from the deeds of the law.

When reading this verse from Romans Chapter 3 we must remember that the foundation of the churches was established in the Book of Acts.  These churches already knew the foundation of baptism and were being instructed on what to do next.  This can clearly be seen in Romans chapter 6 which is the scripture I gave just before this one from Romans Chapter 3.

It is clear that Jesus, AFTER He was crucified and resurrected, gave a commandment to baptize and it is also clear that the apostles commanded water baptism 10 years after Jesus' commandment.

Jesus' commandment AFTER  the crucifixion         Matthew 28:19
                                                                    New King James Version (NKJV)
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

The apostles' commandment 10 years later                   Acts 10:48
                                                                      New King James Version (NKJV)
And he commanded them to be baptized in the
name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.

The tabernacle of Moses was a shadow of good things to come.  We need to understand the set up of the priesthood in the natural at that time to understand the priesthood of the spiritual in this present time.  Baptism is a New Testament commandment and not an option.  Of course there must be a desire in each persons heart to want to know God.  That is why Peter said on the Day of Pentecost;

                                                                              Acts 2:38-39
                                                                     New King James Version (NKJV)
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let
every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of
sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise
is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord
                                                                                       our God will call.”

It is only by the Blood of JESUS CHRIST that the New Testament Church can even be baptized into Jesus Christ!  We should NOT be fighting against baptism but rather praising the LORD that we CAN be baptized!

The LORD bless you!   Be sure to tell someone on the job about JESUS!

Can Christians Be Friends With Muslims?

10/18/2011

Praise the LORD!
I pray that all is going well with you!  Let me start out by saying "YES" Christians CAN be friends with muslims.  If I said "NO" then 99% of the churches I have attended would have to quit preaching "With God ALL things ARE possible!"  The catch here is, it will be VERY difficult in MOST cases to continue to keep talking about the One True God (Jesus) and maintain the peace in your friendship.

I have only recently begun digging into the religion of Islam.  I in no way claim to be a scholar on the matter which is why I have begun to ask, those in the religion, questions about their religion to confirm things that could just be speculation from the Christian point of view.

The local church I attend has had much discussion recently on Walid Shoebat.  Walid is an ex-muslim PLO terrorist.  Walid converted to Christianity after a little challenge from his catholic wife to read the bible and explain to her what was so bad about the Jewish people that Walid had so much hatred towards at that present time.  Walid said that as he read the bible he noticed that all of the good guys of the quran were the bad guys of the bible and the bad guys in the quran were the good guys in the bible.  His own words on the matter "Something is very fishy here!"  He also goes on to say that the anti-christ of the quran is The Christ of the bible and the christ of the quran is the anti-christ of the bible.

Walid said that as he was confused between the bible and quran he found one similarity that he could go with as he began to pray on the matter.  He found that both say they pray to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  At that time he began to ask the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to reveal the truth to him.  He then goes on to say "Be very careful when you pray to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, because when you do SOMETHING HAPPENS!" and of course it would because the True God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is alive and well today!

Walid is fluent in arabic and speaks English very well also. He is now preaching in the United States throughout the christian churches and can also be heard at times on Christian radio stations being interviewed.

As I have myself begun to seek the truth concerning this religion that is quickly moving upon the world, the only similarities I have found is that they do say they pray to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and oddly enough they also claim to believe that Jesus was a Prophet. It seems that it would be easy to show someone that if the Prophet said in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father but by me" it would be easy to see that Jesus was not only a Prophet but  also the ONLY WAY to the God of Abraham, Isacc and Jacob.

I included a small you tube video with Walid speaking on Islam.  If any readers here are arabic speaking please watch the video as Walid gives some of the message in the arabic language.  Thanks again for dropping by and may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob become real to you also!

                                                                        Please note*
That while we believe this video contains a lot of good information on the teachings of Islam, Missionaries For Jesus Christ does not claim to agree with all teaching in the video, especially with those of the catholic doctrine.

The Feast Of Tabernacles "The Season Of Our Joy"

10/12/2011

Praise the LORD!
Well, tonight is the night in 2011!    Yes, at the full moon here on October 12, 2011, the Feast of Tabernacles will begin according to Leviticus 23:33-44.  The actual date for the feast to begin is October 13, but because of the difference in the way time is kept today compared to the way God set it, we have to start at evening on the 12th which actually begins the next day according to the LORD.  If your still thinking that's just Old Testament your are only part right.  As I mentioned in precivious blogs it is very obvious that the LORD gave these feasts to His People for a reason.  NOT only did the first 4 of the 7 feasts represent His First Coming but these final three feasts will represent His Second Coming!

It is quite obvious that the 7 year covenant (Daniel 9:27) did not begin this year but know for certain it won't be long.

None the less,  for us that are in JESUS the Feast of Tabernacles is one to know because after the other 6 are fulfilled, this is the one that we will celebrate with the LORD in eternity!  The Feast of Tabernacles is referred to by some ancient Jewish sages as the "Season of our Joy".  It is a 7 day feast with an extra holy day added at the end of it, which makes it in total a feast of 8 days.  Isn't it interesting that "The Ten Minute Tribulation" shows Gods' calendar to be a biblical timeframe with 8 windows of time!  The Second Coming of Jesus Christ will begin the 7th window of time since Adam and Eve and then we will begin the 1000 year period discussed in
Revelation chapter 20.

This is also the feast referenced in the Book of John Chapter 7.  John 7:37-38
In the last day, that great day of the FEAST, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink.  He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Have a GREAT week!  God Bless You and be sure to tell someone on the job about JESUS! (Yeshua)

The Day of Atonement

10/6/2011

As we approach The Day of Atonement as this is being written on Oct. 6, 2011, I want to continue to speak on these important Fall Feasts.  Almost 10 days ago I did a blog on The Feast of Trumpets also known as Rosh Hoshanna. The blowing of the trumpet serves as a “wake-up” call to honor God as King, to remember His Goodness and His Faithfulness to His People, and to reveal and awaken the conscience and soul of His People. The High Holy Days consist of 10 days of repentance, reflection, and restoration. This period ends on the Day of Atonement.

You can begin to see how these Fall Feasts tie into the Second Coming of the LORD as we know the Trumpet will sound one day and at that time we will stand before the LORD.  These Fall Feasts cover a time period from the beginning of the New Moon as discussed in the Rosh Hashanna blog and continue on to 15 days later at the Full Moon which is only about 7 days away. The final Fall Feast is known as the Feast of Tabernacles and ALWAYS is on the full moon.

The Day of Atonement is still considered the most Holy Day of the year to the Jews although we know as Christians that every day is a Holy Day.  Before the First Coming of Jesus Christ, the Day of Atonement was the only day of the year that the High Priest could enter into the Holy of holies to intercede for the nations. The high priest had to be cleansed of his sins and specially prepared to enter into the Holy of holies and meet with God on this day.

Since the Blood of the True Lamb was shed almost 2000 years ago every believer has the ability to enter into this Most Holy Place throughout the year and the Word of God instructs us to enter in without fear into the Presence of God.

Hebrews 10:19  Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.

A good study of the way the Tabernacle of Moses was constructed and operated in the physical will help to understand how the Temple of God now operates in the Spiritual.  Moses was instructed to build the tabernacle exactly as he had been shown by God to build it.  The Tabernacle of Moses was a physical picture of what was soon to become a spiritual reality.

God Bless you!          and be sure to tell someone on the job about JESUS!

Are Tongues For Today?

10/1/2011

Praise the LORD!
Well my opinion on this subject is of little importance, so let's go straight to the Word of God on the subject!

1 Corinthians 14:39   Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid NOT to speak with tongues.

Personally, I know many christians in many denominations that get a little nervous when you start to discuss this subject with them.  Fear of the unknown maybe? or perhaps it just gets a little scary when the unknown becomes real and would cause us to believe that the entire Word of God is more real that we actually cared to admit!

Obviously the apostle Paul had no problem with speaking in tongues;
1 Corinthians 14:18  I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

It is true that that verse does NOT end there and Paul starts to set the order of tongues at that point ,but none the less, he did set it in order and NEVER forbade it!

To be honest, when I first heard of people speaking in tongues it was a little strange to me. In fact, it is possible that I was even a little jealous that some people had it and I did not.  It was not until I got to the point where I just believed that with God ALL things are possible and if someone had something from God that I did not understand yet, may the LORD bless them anyway, that I received the blessing from the LORD!

It is perfectly clear that on the day the Holy Ghost was first poured out, all of them in the room received the Holy Ghost and began to speak in other tongues.

Acts 2:4  And they were ALL filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Maybe you are saying "That was then BUT this is now!" well it tells us just a few verses later in the same chapter that this event would be available to all for all eternity!

Acts 2:39  For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

I have to admit I have seen the gift operate out of order, but at the same time, wouldn't you say that no operation of the gift is also out of order?

It seems quite unusual to me to fear the unknown when we speak of God, because if we truly believe that He is God and able to do ALL things, how can we begin to put His Gifts in a box?  Also who are we as children of God to fear anything BUT God?

2 Timothy 1:7  For God hath NOT given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

1 Corinthians Chapters 12, 13 and 14
cover the operations of tongues and other gifts of the Spirit.  I encourage each reader to study the Word of God and let God be God and let the river truly flow in the church.  Paul said it clearly, or better yet, God said it clearly through Paul in;

1 Corinthians 14:39  Therefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid NOT to speak with tongues.

May the LORD bless you!      and be sure to tell someone on the job about JESUS!
