God is good!
Expect great things to happen in 2014! This could be the very year that the fulfillment of Joel 3:1&2 begins to fall into place with the dividing of His land! Although this is, NOT, a great thing to see as far as being pleasing to God, it is however, great to see as far as the perfection of Gods' Word.
Joel 3:1-2 KJV
For behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted My land.
A very interesting word we see here in this more than 2500 year old prophesy! The word "Again"
In the time of the destruction of Solomon's Temple, when Daniel and the Jews were taken to Babylon (Modern day Iraq) for 70 years, and then allowed to return to Israel at the end of that 70 year period as prophesied by Jeremiah, would have been the first time the Jews were gathered back to Israel.
Jeremiah 25:11-12 KJV
And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon (Iraq) seventy years.
And it shall come to pass when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.
I can only wonder what Daniel was saying to his Christian friends, when, they tried to tell him "no man knows the day nor the hour" as he was about to be released at the end of the 70 year period! Daniel noticed a huge change in power taking place and suddenly knew that the dream the king of Babylon (Daniel Chapter 2) and the vision he himself had of the four beasts more than 60 years later (Daniel Chapter 7) were beginning their second stage.

In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;
In the first year of his reign, I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the Word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
Although Daniel may not have known the exact day nor hour, he surely knew the time was at hand from what the scriptures said!
It's a little interesting the way that Babylon (Iraq) actually went down if we really dig into the scriptures the way Daniel did. In Chapter 5 of Daniel, we see that Belshazzar is now in charge of Babylon (Iraq) about 10 years after the reign of Nebuchadnezzar. Belshazzar seemed to have a good ol American type of spirit. He was having a big party with some really nice food while his enemies were picking up strength just outside the house where the party was taking place! Not to mention the fact, his head got so big he thought he could use the vessels Nebuchadnezzar stole from the house of God to do his drinking in!

But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven, and they have brought the vessels of His house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thy not glorified:
Needless to say, although the spirit of Belshazzar lives on, Belshazzar's party came to a sudden end that night and God's plan of the arms and chest of silver from a dream about 70 years earlier moved on as the Medes and Persians took over power!
So from Nebuchadnezzar to Belshazzar, shortly after the head of gold came to an end, we have the first time the people were gathered back to Israel, BUT, Joel's prophesy says "AGAIN!"
Well until 1948 there was NO ISRAEL, after the destruction of the Second Temple (Herods' Temple) by Rome (The legs of Iron in Daniel Chapter 2) in 70AD, for the Jews to be gathered to "AGAIN!"
Now, we see the Jews returning to Israel "AGAIN!" as we may also see the parting of God's land take place this coming year in 2014. It blows my mind that many people would turn their ears from this kind of message when it should make them jump for joy, as the Word of God shows itself to be just that!
The Word of God!
God gave us Holy Days in Leviticus Chapter 23, but the spirit of Belshazzar seems to have preferred Holi Days over the Holy Days. Maybe that's why so many people prefer to drink so much alcohol during the Holi Days.
As most people celebrate this New Year the same way that Belshazzar probably would have done it, let's keep in mind the New Year that God originally set up!
Exodus 12:1-2 KJV (Referring to the Passover Feast)
And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
This falls about March or April by the Gregorian calendar.
Although January is the only New Year that most of us from this part of the world know, it has to be as strange to God to call January the 1st month of the year, as it is for most people to recognize that 14 days before the Passover is actually Gods' beginning of the year. (Passover is actually the Holi Day called easter now. Easter comes from the name Ashtoreth & Ishtar in the Old Testament)
To really mix things up a bit, we must also realize that even in Israel, they now call their seventh month of the year (usually in our September) the Head of the Year. Although God has allowed that to take place, it still is not the biblical beginning of the year. It seems that God just allows each king to have it his way, until the fulfillment of Joel 3:1&2 be fulfilled!
If you are wondering how these kind of things can happen, just remember Belshazzar! He surely was not the only king drinking from Gods' vessels! I remember hearing it said awhile back "you never really know somebody until you give them a little power" I have found that to be one of the most real statements I have ever heard over the years.
Now, I'm not sure which man nearly 2000 years ago, actually felt he had enough power to correct the way God had set things up, but, at the same time, I have known enough of them to understand one like that surely existed!
If you dig into "January" you will find that it comes from the word Janis. Janis was a two headed god of the Romans. One head would be looking to the future while the other head would be looking at the past. The months of the present calendar go on like that and even the days of the week. For example, what we now call Thursday was better known originally in the old English as Thors Day. The new movie release of Thor should make that a little easier for you to swallow!
In just a couple days from now the spirit of Belshazzar will live on. While many grab a bottle and have it their way, the enemy will be creeping over fences, coming in by water, or maybe even be invited in by some of our leaders to celebrate the big event! BUT! Isn't that what it will take to move into the feet partly of Iron and partly of clay?

And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom will be partly strong, and partly broken.
AND whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
As we await the return of the KING of kings, be sure, the BELSHAZZAR of Belshazzar's is soon to come also, just prior! As Paul warned us in Second Thessalonians 2:3, the man of sin MUST be revealed just before the return of Christ! Yes, someone else is soon to come that can do a better job with the calendar than God and the last person that fixed it did!

And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of times. (3 1/2 years) (see also Revelation 12:6&14)
Revelation chapter 13:11 speaks of a lamb with two horns. This would seem to show us something that resembles the church but the two horns would represent the evilness of those churches.
As I read my bible I can only find two horns that have continually changed Gods' times and laws.
1) We know that when Daniel and the Jews were taken to Babylon nearly 2600 years ago they fell under a different calendar and set of laws to abide by.
2) We know that our current calendar of Holi Days and new gay marriage laws ect.... has been changed little by little over the last 2000 years. (Those sure are some long legs of iron!)
But Daniel 7:25 is speaking of the final 3 1/2 years before the Return of the LORD! The Last 3 1/2 years known as the Great Tribulaton! Is it possible that someone is about to change the times and laws again?
If there's only two horns on this lamb, could it be that the first horn will soon rise again ushering in the long awaited fulfillment of Daniels 70th week!
Praise God! Because at the end of those 3 1/2 years there is a STONE coming that will crush the feet that belong to that head of gold!
Daniel 2:44-45 KJV
And in the days of these kings shall the God of Heaven set up a Kingdom, which shall NEVER be destroyed: and the kingdom shall NOT be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume ALL these kingdoms, and it shall stand FOREVER.
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the Great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is CERTAIN, and the interpretation thereof SURE.
Don't sweat it! The feet won't be around long!

For then shall be Great Tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
We serve a good God! I'm sure He still get's a little angry at kings drinking from His vessel's, BUT, it's good to know He ALWAYS has EVERYTHING under control!
