Hello and thanks for dropping in!
Hard to believe that only about 50 years ago it was good to be gay in the United States of America! Yes, just a short time ago it just meant you were happy if you were gay and had NOTHING to do with being a homo sexual. What a difference 50 years can make ,because now, it is a word with a 99% negative meaning. Lot's of words change over time and that is the reason we should not take everything we read just as it is, without a thorough investigation into the context and the way a word is being used.
Although not too long ago it was good to be gay, it is not good to be gay today. Even many denominations within the church have gotten a bit confused on what it means to be gay. Some denominations have somehow found ways to justify being gay, as the word is used today, to be OK by God's standards and will even try to use the bible to justify their teachings.
Let me start out right now by saying, God loves the sinner BUT He hates the sin! That's right, God hates homo sexuality BUT He can love the repented homo sexual. It is usually at this point that I better quit speaking and let the Word of God begin to come forth. Let's go to the bible and see what God says about this sin and leave my personal thoughts behind.
Romans 1:27-28
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are NOT convenient.
These verses are a little more scary for those in the church than for those who have not yet known God. I say that because, if God never had you, He can not give you up. In other words, If a person is homo sexual and has never known God, and if that person repents, he has a better chance of walking with the LORD than if a person knew the LORD and then went that way and wanted to return again to the LORD.
My point is, there is NO WAY for the chuch TODAY, to justify it to be OK to be GAY! It is very obvious from God's Word that God NEVER said He would allow it in the world much less in His Church! God is merciful and gaceful and if we have erred, return to Him before it is too late! I know sometimes the Word of God can be a bit frightening and you may feel there is no return to God for me BUT I always believe that if you are still on this side of the grass there is still hope from a loving God.
Yes! there is hope ,BUT, that hope with God can NOT come without repentance. True repentance means to STOP and turn the other way. It means to give up that which God does NOT allow and humbly follow Him with a heart of sincerity. Even someone that is gay can recieve the mercy of God and understand what it meant to be gay 50 years ago! Then, it is OK to be gay!
That goes for you too girls!
God bless you and be sure to tell someone on the job about JESUS!
