God is still doing GREAT things!
I pray all is going well with you wherever you are! Well, what a time we had in the LORD here in Texas yesterday! The service was off to a slow start, and in fact, it even ran close to 30 minutes late to actually get started BUT just like JESUS going to Lazarus after he had been dead for 4 days, JESUS is ALWAYS on time! A young man that we ran into while passing out bread at an apartment complex a couple weeks ago was touched greatly by the Holy Ghost at the end of the service! What a blessing that was to see! It was so awesome to see the look on many faces as they could in no way deny that God was in the house!
It is hard to believe that so many today are frightened to even hear that the Gift of the Holy Ghost is still alive and well! I mean after all God did say it was a PROMISE to ALL from the Day of Pentecost to the present! ACTS 2:39 For the PROMISE is unto you , and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call. Now you may have to read the whole chapter to really understand what was happening that day and what they were being PROMISED would be available to ALL for the many generations to come, but one thing for sure is that it's ALL in your bible if you will take the time to look at it!
This is where the Christmas spirit comes in because you would think we would have more time than ever to get into the Word of God as we approach the time of year that has been said to be the birth of Jesus Himself! I remember when I was in Peru during this time of the year a couple of years ago and the closer we got to Christmas the harder it was to talk to anyone about JESUS. It was at that time that I really started observing the Christmas spirit as we approach this time of the year! I try to keep in mind that so many say JESUS is the reason for the season as they honk their horns in traffic and grab gifts out of the hands of each other in stores! Don't get me wrong because I am sure there are still many that keep the True Spirit through this time of the year but be sure to keep your eyes on the majority around you!
Now back to the Gift that really matters! ACTS 19:2 Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? I find it very interesting throughout the Book of Acts that as people were receiving this PROMISE of the Gift of the Holy Ghost that it was something that was seen and heard by all that were there in the room when it was taking place. ACTS 10:45-47 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the Gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.
I know, I know, I said the T word. Tongues! But should we really argue with the Word of God?
1 Corinthians 14:39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
The entire Book of Acts which is the beginning of the New Testament church is loaded with this type of experience. I can already hear some out there quoting those scriptures from the Book of Romans BUT remember those churches were established under the doctrines in the Book of Acts before the additional letters were sent to them to maintain and disciple them! ACTS 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Have you ever wondered what Simon the sorcerer saw happening in the church that made him want to purchase the Gift of the Holy Ghost? ACTS 8:18&19 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money. Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
As we enter into the season with a reason, let's get back to the TRUTH! Be a part of Pentecost and NOT the Great Falling Away! 2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.
One thing for sure! The Christmas baby is all grown up!
You have a blessed day and be sure to tell someone on the job about JESUS!
