Praise God!
I pray all is well with you and that the LORD is blessing you richly in all that you do! I have decided that the first question I'm going to ask Jesus when I meet Him in the air is "Why did you call us sheep?" If you ever do a study on sheep you will find some interesting things about them. Here are just a few characteristics about sheep!
The list goes on and on but I think you catch my drift.
I guess people do kind of sound like sheep at times if you really think about it. "Waaaaaah Waaaaaaah"
Anyway, all of this stirred up something that was mentioned to me about a month ago. It was mentioned to me that I should start wearing a suit coat so that I would look more believable. While I do believe that the coats do look nice, at the same time, I think I would have to make anyone that started believing me just because I started wearing a suit coat "Chief Sheep!" Maybe that is why 99% of the churches today insist on keeping false doctrine.
Zechariah 13:4 King James Version
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to
deceive:
I still do and always will believe that no man should be believed because of his appearance, position, or for any other reason that you might be able to come up with. Every message that is preached should ALWAYS be held up to the mirror to see what it really looks like! By that I mean, we should always compare it to God's Word to see if it lines up with the gospel that was given us. After all, Paul did say,
2 Thessalonians 2:3 King James Version
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
How in the world could we ever have this great falling away in the church though, if the majority of sheep did not fall for false
doctrine?
Recently I heard it asked, how many want to go through the tribulation and of coarse no one did! Be sure I don't either, but at the same time, I do know that my wants will NOT change the Word of God!
I'm sure Daniel didn't want to be in that lions den or that fiery
furnace! I would say it's safe to say that John the Baptist didn't want his head at Herod's birthday party nor Jeremiah to be put down in the miry pit!
Jeremiah 38:6 King James Version
Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.
If Paul were the Burger King kind of man, I'm sure he would have had it his way and found a better place to hand out the letter we call 2nd Timothy than from an 18 X 18 inch opening at
the top of his cold and isolated cell in Mamertine prison, not to mention the fact, he was beheaded shortly after the letter was sent to Timothy!
This could be another list that goes on and on and on but
let's put the cherry on the sundae here and consider Jesus' desire to go through all that He went through!
Matthew 27:28-31 King James Version
And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.
And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
Sometimes it can be so hard to keep faith like the heroes of faith we read about in Hebrews 11.
Hebrews 11:33-38 King James Version
Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of
lions.
Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might
obtain a better resurrection:
And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
It really blows my mind to know that the old testament saints were so strong in the LORD without the promise of the Holy Ghost!
Although most people today are actually a little scared to read the Book of Revelation, we are given a promise that there is a blessing to those who do read it and understand it (Revelation 1:3). While the Book of Revelation might not be the spiritual smoothie you've been looking for, it will give you the truth you need to know in order to understand why things are the way they are today.
Revelation 14:12 King James Version
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
By the way!, that verse is referring to a time that we know for sure is AFTER the first half of the tribulation!
Isaiah 30:10 King James Version
Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
Enjoy the holi day the mother church gave us BUT don't
forget the Holy days the True Church gave us! (Leviticus 23)
Have a blessed week!
and be SURE to tell someone about JESUS!
