This message "When Eve wants to be Steve" has been heavy on my heart all day today and I just had to get at the computer and post this blog. First let me say that this is NOT a male chauvinist blog and is in no way meant to belittle the importance of God's unbelievable creation "Woman".
Although the Apostle Paul has been said by many to be a male chauvinist because of some of his writtings in the bible, a careful look at the scriptures will prove contrary. Many jump the gun when they read 1 Corinthian's 11:8-9 and begin to sound off before they finish the context, as is done with so many scriptures.
1 Corinthians 11:8-9
For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
I can already see a few horns poping up here BUT please hang in there until I finish the "Context" of what Paul was saying. Order, although lacked greatly anymore in the USA, is very important for the smooth function of the church, home, work place and any place as far as that goes. Order is what Paul was demonstrating and this is the order that God set up in the beginning. BUT, he continues on a few verses later;
1 Corinthians 11:11-12
Nevertheless, neither is the man without the woman,
neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman;
but all things of God.
So now we see just a couple of verses later that Paul is saying the two are equal and in no way trying to play down the importance of a woman. What is being said here is that just as woman (Eve) came from the rib of a man (Adam), every man after that has come from a woman! Only the first woman came from a man and since then every man and woman has come from a woman.
The order that Paul was trying to get straight here is of the utter most importance for the good function of a Christian home. This in no way means that the woman can not have good ideas and suggestions in the home and many times may even have the better part of them, BUT, for the importance of "Order", these things should be presented in the home the way we see it here. Of course all of this depends on the man also being a humble Christian with a life submitted to the Word of God.
When the children of the home see this order in good works, they will see God in the lives of their parents as the house is run smoothly from day to day. It was only about 40 years ago that women went into the work place full time as a normal function in society. Now X box has become the role model of many american homes as the woman is no longer in her role and kids are alone for the better part of each day. There is really no way for me to describe the difference it makes in a childs life when one of the parents is in the home with them continually. This is the first generation in american history to be without women in the home and by far the most unmoral generation in american history. God made Adam and Eve, NOT , Adam and Steve.
The big problem I have seen over the years as "Eve wants to be Steve" can be one that causes great problems in the home. While there are some incredible ways that I have seen Christian women perform their role in the house, I have also seen some incredible ways that God has designed the man of the house. I have seen many times over the years where a man trys to keep things out of the house only to be battled by the woman of the house and let some of these things remain, usually little by little leading to bigger things and bigger problems. Many of these things for some reason, the man seems to identify better than the woman as something that should not be let into the house. Some examples of things I have seen over the years are secular music, ungodly video games and so on........ It should be obvious that if these things start to bring arguments into the home, the answer is not to just quit fighting about it and let the things remain in the home but rather if there is something about them that causes contentions just simply get rid of the things that have crept into the house!
Please don't get me wrong, I am sure there are times where the woman wants to keep the house safer than the man but don't forget that I said "all of this depends on the man also being a humble Christian with a life submitted to the Word of God." If the husband and wife are in agreeance and in order what a beautiful and blessed house it should be! Your comments are always welcomed!
God bless you and be sure to tell someone on the job about Jesus!
